Is Nardiello available for Southend or is he cup tied? If we have him on season loan QPR won't be bothered about him playing in Cup anyway

You have to sign players something like seven days in advance. He will be able to play from a possible replay onwards I think.

    Is this true?

Have we signed him? I've not been online all day.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Why could he play if it was Saturday? If it's 7 days notice then it doesn't make a difference!! Really hope he can play on Friday!!

I think he probably can play

I thought he'd changed his mind and signed for Southend then.

I think its something daft though like player has to be signed the Friday before the tie

Dont think the rule envisaged ties being brought forwards to the Friday Night

I know, that implies the day before the game

i.e. if we were playing sat he would be able to play. I assume the spirit of the rule would be applied in this case.

Since when has the FA ever applied the spirit of the rule?

Mind you I might be wrong - only going on what I read somewhere

    the rule is quite clear

In the the player has to be signed by midday on the friday before the day of the tie. As you say, that rule was probably brought in not expecting clubs to move games forward so it depends on how the FA decide to rule. As the rule is written then no he can't play but the club could always apply and explain that the game was brought forward and he has been signed with plenty of time. The FA have no obligation to allow it though.
