Heard this morning that Nads could be putting in a transfer request by christmas if he cannot secure a regular starting place, his agent has told the club that Hull, Sunderland and Notts Forest have declared interest in the striker. From a personal viewpoint Ritchie has stated that he likes players who work for the team and will track back, but Nads is a predatory striker and although will work hard he may not always be what Ritchie wants him to be. Ritchie told a local Yorkshire paper when asked about the crowds chants for Nads against Leeds, Ritchie stated" i do what i want to do with tactical and player changes i am not influenced by the crowd as i feel i have a little more experience than they to change the game" didnt Paul Hart once say that.. Source for the info is from a local sports writer in Yorkshire..
I'm not at all surprised, he's not had the best time here, in my book he'd be the first name on the team sheet, Ritchie gave him 35 mins last week, and he turned the game, ok he operates in flashes, but those flashes can be devastating, personally I would rather we lose this manager than Nardiello.
Isn't it just because we are conceding lots of goals that Ritchie feels he needs to have strikers who track back? If we weren't having so many problems defensively I think Ritchie might be more tempted to have an out-and-out predatory striker in the team.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the job of a striker to score goals not defend. Would imagine that having a few defenders who could do their job would b enough. Nardiello is without doubt the most dangerous attacker at the club and just by having him on the field change the game for us last week. I'd be getting pissed off if I were him.
Wouldn't want him to leave as I think he could really do the business in this division, but I wouldn't blame him for wanting a transfer to somewhere where he's a regular first-team player.
RE: Wouldn't want him to leave Think is with me, you would be happy as an away fan against us been up against Richards and maybe even Hayes. Defenders in the Championship are mostly big strong players who are quite happy been up against the likes of Richards. Hayes is class but his shooting lets him down. Wright makes a nuisanse of himself as defenders don't get an easy ride. Nardiello is a tricky player who looks a threat and isn't afraid to shoot, Leeds fan at work says they were comfortable until he came on.
Who says he wont secure a regular place? He was injured, only just coming back to fitness. so until the last couple of games there was no question of him starting matches. If he performs like he did against Leeds when he gets the chance in the next few games then he should start and if he doesnt I'd have every sympathy with him wanting to leave but its a bit early for that sort of talk. In any case looks like an agent stirring to me!
RE: Who says he wont secure a regular place? Nads has been fit and available for a full 90 minutes for the last 4 games, its only Ritchie who has kept him from the starting line up
