And without the off the ball movement

Payton used to know where the last defender was and play off him to break an offside trap, Nardiello just gets caught offside.

No he was in a wardrobe, naked, having been caught mid-shag with a friends or neighbours wife or summat.

payton was only decent coz o'connell or liddell would...

let the ball run between there legs, fox the defender and let mr sulk have clean run on goal. That worked loads of times, someone whould dig the 94/95 video out for davey to look at.

I apologise to Andy Payton ; From The Telegraph online. Quality

Burnley striker Andy Payton was offloaded on loan to Blackpool in disgrace yesterday 72 hours after appearing before Burnley magistrates, who heard that he spent Sunday evening at a pub before writing off his Volkswagen Golf GTi against the side of a house.

Police then broke into his estranged wife's home, after Payton abandoned his car, and went upstairs, where, the court heard, they found Payton, half-naked, in the wardrobe. Payton's defence said he was looking for his children's Christmas presents. He was fined £750, given 80 hours' community punishment and disqualified from driving for three years.

Payton never seemed to score "important" goals

Maybe it is just me, but he seemed to score the second goal in a two nil win.

I'd like to see some statistics for strikers that score winning goals. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Seemed to remember he scored one against Wolves

which just about kept us up one season. Can't be arsed to look it up, could be wrong.

It doesn’t matter how good you are, if the team doesn’t create chances what can you do?

Can’t remember the last time we created more than 3 in a game. And really we only create 1 yesterday which Richards scored.

Earlier in the season all we lacked was a finisher as we created loads and with Nardiello fit from the start we could have been in a much healthier position.

Finishers cannot finish if nothing is created for them. No matter what he does it’s never enough for some. Just remember, when was the last time an opportunity came his way?
