Great piece of film. He is exactly right about the self entitled pircks who run this country, and yet again we have to wonder why we the public voted for them. Don't tell me it's because the opposition is useless - it's because they "Got brexit Done".

Well, this is my take on it.

There are two ways you can try and influence someone. Either emotionally or rationally.

The Brexit campaign targeted emotion -the deep emotion that surrounds identity and who you really are. It resurrected the familiar yet mythical idea of ‘Britishness’ and ‘Great Britain.’ In doing that it directed other emotions - fear, anger - at anyone threatening that identity. We had to ‘Get Brexit Done’ to be rid of those foreigners holding us back.

But dabbling with emotions is dangerous. You’re unleashing forces that are hard to predict. If shelves were empty and there was rioting in the streets, those who bought into Brexit emotionally would blame immigrants, EU, foreigners and anyone British who didn’t share their view. They’d turn on the ‘enemy within’ and we’d start tearing ourselves apart.

The signs are already there. It’s easy to blame people for being racist, thick or stupid but I know some well-educated (and I always thought perfectly reasonable people) who’ve bought into this. Where once they’d argue rationally it’s now turned to ranting and raving about pride in the flag and singing patriotic songs in the classroom.

Facts and reality no longer matter. It’s all very worrying.

    Every word 100% true.

I love that he's got the ******** to go after her as well because she is also a pathetic little lovely person just like he is.

******* shoot the lot of them. Boris, Hancock, Cummings, Gove. Put a bullet in them for what they've done

A very big part of it all is the media .
A campaign against Corbyn after he almost stopped the Tory was initiated by the popular media and it worked as did the Bacon Sandwich against milliband .
Lots of people will tell you it’s their own decisions etc but it coincides with a media campaign and that tells the story .
Lie after lie was told about Corbyn and was repeated on here as to why they went against him , many after voting for him previous .
Unfortunately in most countries the press can print or broadcast anything they feel and with multi national media and state resources can infiltrate what we perceive as opinions on social media platforms .
Hancock looks like the sacrificial lamb to quell the outrage of this governments incompetence and double standards ,
He’s the one the media are holding up to blame , of course he is to blame but the heat is being intensely diverted and hoping the bad feeling for this shambles will mostly go with him .
A labour Government wouldn’t have been allowed a fifth of what this lot have got away with. The media would have seen to that . The murdochs and their ilk have got western democracy seen up IMO .

Maybe that's why Johnson isn't acting to sack him. Let as much of the heat go to Hancock as possible before getting shut of him at the 12th hour. Like you said a bit of a sacrificial lamb but it takes the public eye of every other official including himself. If he had fired him straight away, the focus would have shifted straight back to Johnson. It could likely backfire though because we'll have 6 months of trying to get an answer out of Johnson why he wasn't removed long ago if he was incompetent.

I think its more to do with DePfeffel being a spineless coward when it comes to these sorts of confrontations.

Who is protecting him.. Nobody is bulletproof.. Maybe he is scared that Hancock also knows plenty of shady goings on that would tie up with what cummings spouted. then it becomes more than one blokes word against his after being fired.. Obviously cummings attacked hancock as well so Johnson thinks he is on safe ground if he keeps him..

I think the first 4 words of that paragraph are the most important.

DePfeffel doesn't do detail, critical thinking (he's forever given dummy cards), scrutiny or difficult decision making. He was the same as London Mayor.

He abdicates as much as he can, blames everyone else but refuses to act himself and only comes alive when its something that he cares about. Which is his image and his pocket.

Hancock will go, or it may mortally wound dePfeffel (though it should have done so well before now).

But who has been protecting them, why have they eased that protection and why now? All questions we can guess at but are very unlikely to get the answers to as it is right at the heart of power.

Johnson doesn’t do answers , well not ones you can reply to because he makes statements and that’s it .
No prime minister ever had the privileges he’s had with dodging scrutiny he leaves it mostly to his press handlers .
Hancock is the sacrificial lamb and the diversion from scrutiny .
The media needed a story to counter for all the filth coming out of number ten and they got one .
Note that this affair has been in the knowledge of the media and ministers for years . It’s been put on hold till the media etc deem it the right time to deviate criticism .

Johnson will go and I think that was always the plan as he can earn more money after being pm with the paths he's greased for others in my opinion.
Until then Hancock stays to absorb 90% of the shitness flying about because Johnson will earn more if he isn't sacked.

And these are the people ‘governing’ us.

There’ll be a turf war soon. Hancock, Cummings and the rest in a live streamed gun battle in the dark alleyways of Downing Street.

He's his useful idiot when the investigations actually start. Once Hancockio is gone he's only got Gove to shield him. He might throw Patel under the bus for Borders, but eventually all roads will point to the man who doesn't like paying for home improvements and doesnt know how many mistresses he's pupped.
