Skysports.com understands Preston North End's on-loan midfielder Nathan Doyle wants to resolve his future in January. Doyle has impressed in making six appearances for Preston since joining the League One club on loan in November from Barnsley. The 24-year-old's contract at Barnsley expires at the end of the season and Doyle is keen to know where his future lies in the New Year. The former Hull City man has enjoyed his loan spell at Deepdale, although the Lilywhites are currently without a manager following the sacking of Phil Brown. Doyle, who joined the Tykes initially on loan in 2009, is understood to have several options open to him as he weighs up his long-term future.
Doyle was amazing last game for Barnsley was it Donni or Cov? He was nearly sick after the game he'd given so much. Can only assume he's hd a major fall out with KH, because he might not be the best footballer the club has ever had but he certainly gives 110% which is the KY way we ar always being told.
Beg to differ... Doyle is slow of thought and doesnt move on the park (i.e. slow of pace and energy). He does not effectively keep up with the game at this level and although he occasionally he does the odd 'good' thing like his goal against Leicester (last year!!!) he does not contribute effectively to the passing and moving style of football that Hill is trying to develop. He is, in short, not good enough, hence his move to PNE.
All I can assume is Because the Assulin deal was almost done, Hill thought it best he loaned Doyle out to keep fit cos we've no reserve squad now, that's probably all. Then he'd make a decision over his future in the summer, looks as though Doyle wants to sort something before then, which is fair enough.
