Barnsley manager Mark Robins is ready to send some of his fringe players out on loan for match practice.

The former Rotherham boss, who took over at Oakwell from Simon Davey last month, has made five signings since his arrival and reveals certain players need to get first-team football under their belts.

Former Crystal Palace winger Julian Gray, defender Nathan Jarman, Slovenia centre-back Suad Filekovic and on-loan Stoke pair Carl Dickinson and Ryan Shotton have all moved to the South Yorkshire club, pushing some out of the frame.

The likes of Martin Devaney, Mounir El Haimour and Rob Kozluk may be forced into a short-term switch, after finding starting places hard to come by.

"There might be one or two players who need to go out and get games," Robins told the Sheffield Star.

"There's nothing been agreed right at the moment for any player, but that's definitely an option for us."

Those 3 will struggle to get on the bench now

    So it makes sense really.

Bet Grimsby Town will be surprised to hear that. Is it really in today's Star?

    Another success from the academy
