First get together of the NE REDS occured on Wednesday night in Newcastle. Fortunately I had chosen a quiet bar, or the difficulty of initial recognition may have led to dire consequences! Hovering round groups of strangers listening in to conversations or the more direct approach of walking straight up and asking "Are you Barnsley supporters?", may not have worked so readily in other Newcastle establishments! There were four of us on the night, myself, Vitaltyke, Swinton Red and Gatesheadred the other two "known" NE reds being unable to make it! A good night was had by all - plenty of banter, booze and bashing (of a variety of players, teams etc). We all look forward to further get togethers and have big plans for the future of BFC support in the NE. We dont want this to be an exclusive little group of BBS posters and know that there are many more "TYKES" out there in the NE the problem is communicating with them if they are not regular readers of this board. If you do know any NE exiles please pass on the message of our existence and keep them informed of dates and venues of future get togethers, which I will post on here, or pass on my e-mail address tynetyke@tiscali.co.uk.
and..a big 'Thanks' to Tynetyke for organising this...he got it spot on here..a good night was had by all but next time we had better wear red and at least recognise each other! Still at least you can't say there are stereotypical BFC supporters lol D
