Need to write a bit on boolean searching. How to use it, why its useful etc. Can anyone give me a brief explanation what its all about? Cheers
Firstly, learn to spell College... Secondly, after studying Computing at College, yes I can. Boolean searching allows you to narrow down your search by using special terms before your keywords. It's useful because it can help you make sure you don't get thousands of results when you search. So, the next time you search you'll find what you want quicker and easier. This type of searching is named after George Boole who was alive in the 1700s - quite a little time before the internet! Before computers, librarians in the UK used this system to search for books using their card system. As there are simpler ways to narrow your search, it's not really recommended. Basically, you use the symbols +/-/"" to narrow down your search. And that's Boolean Searching.
Cheers for that pal. What do you use the symbols for and how do they help narrow down your search? (Y)
Make sure you use a good glue and be creative. You can get away with using almost anything in a collage, a magazine page cut to the right shape can quite easily become an elephants trunk. Texture is just as important as colour. I hope that helps
RE: Make sure you use a good glue asking for help with homework and cant even spell college. quality. do you still get a mark for putting your name on top of the exam sheet?
