I could do with adding a few buddies - not for competition but its always nice to know who is doing the miles, who is setting challenges, who is going fast, is there anybody older than me etc .....

Feel free to add me, I will return the favour

I don't use a Garmin. I'm a born again runner after a 23 year break. I have been doing the 5k Barnsley parkrun for 17 weeks.

I use a Polar heart rate monitor. My training method is called Precision Training and is based on "Heart Rate and Time" not distance. This way I don't run junk miles just for the sake of getting miles in.

I sometimes use the "Runtastic" mobile app to measure the pace of a 20 minute Tempo Run in the middle of a 50 minute run. I would run the Tempo bit at a heart rate of 86-88% of my HR max. Last week my splits were 7:54 and 7:56.

I would like to add I am 63 and my 5k pb as a 30 something was 16:44.

I loosly follow the Jack Daniels Formula, the Coach, not the whiskey.
