A football book is going to be published containing various chapters from journalists talking about their football club, and there is an opportunity for one of the blog writers on the website (http://www.lifesapitch.co.uk/) to write a chapter about their club.

I have a few ideas myself of what I could write it on but would like to know what Barnsley supporters would like a chapter on Barnsley FC in a football book to be about.

A few ideas of what I could write about are:

A favourite match/season/player, a historical event, a rivalry, the stadium...

My initial favourite is to write about our season in the Premier League, but does anyone else have any thoughts?

There are fans of other clubs going to be writing something about their clubs as well so mine needs to be the best to get Barnsley in the book as only one gets chosen to go in with the professional journos' chapters.

    Cheers

How about how we were founded? That would be a fitting chapter in our 125th year :)

i know i go on about it but if you did something in the line of the career of norman rimmington i think it would be more authentic. look at the priods he has been involved with bfc stretches from the late forties / fifties to presnt day what a story.

Cheers for the ideas so far... any more? I think really I need to write something that I have seen myself - either players, a season etc as really it's a comment piece.

The period between the Wembley play off defeat and the club almost going out of business would be my choice to cover.

Good shout - and pertinent in the current situation with struggling clubs like Pompey, Rangers and Port Vale.
