Gonna be vital for us now that we have another left back. He'll probably have to fill in at centre-half a lot, which he's shown he can do, but he is also now cover in both of the full-back positions.
I suspect he will be hoping that he wont be playing left back ever again as he quite clearly wasnt suited to the position.
or centre back not a fan of his at all but we should never play him at centre back - can't read a game, no height and too skinny
Can't agree He was oustanding at Centre Half at both Chesterfield and against Gillingham. He was one of the main reasons we got clean sheets in both games. He is an excellent defender, bu he needs to improve his distribution.
my favourite reds player at the moment... ...proper defender. B*ll*cks to the fancystuff hit em hard and get shut. that tackle against Wednesdaylast year will live with me forever. feckin classic
RE: my favourite reds player at the moment... What a challenge indeed, I offered to buy him a drink afterwards for it ff (worship)
1st 5 minutes... ...2 footed tackle from behind on their left winger. only memorable part of that match.
My concerns about Neil are the positions he takes up when marking a player. He needs to work on this side of his game and also get into the habit of looking over his shoulder to get a fuller picture of the game and see what is happening behind him. He also needs to play on the half-turn and get up on his toes. He tends to be a ball watcher but he is not alone in that.
RE: Neil Austin - I like Him He has a nice thin tall body that can slot in anywhere across the back four. Quite long hair, slow to get of the mark but soon speeds up. Size 8 boots, nothing flash or silvery. Black. One of our best midfielders. Could play further wide.
I hate.......... the white/silver/gold/crimson/turquise/amber/fanny coloured boots that our players are wearing at the moment.
Boots should be black and polished by your mum in front of a nice coal fire. Your dad should be out at the pub, trying to shag the Raquel bint behind the bar.
This ***** they wear now is all ******. Not in Norman Rimmingtons day.......oh no!! Might has well wear a skirt wi them shoes lad.....
I tend to agree.

Nutkins - good call I had the pleasure of dubbing all the boots for the Ardsley Oaks junior team. although I was the number 6 (left hand side midfield, if selected) my greatest pleasure was looking after the sports equipment, me & Dave Barraclough got the gig. whilst other small boys were running errands, me & Baz were greedily scoffing crisps and seeing what it was like to linseed oil a ball rather than a bat. We were ASBO's waiting to happen. But the good nature willed out. We looked after the sports kit, Baz played for Barnsley Boys in the Jon Bukovina era, and I learned to play, and beat Baz at, Chess. He was a great young sportsman at most disciplines so this was a my only victory, apart from a weakness for Barraclough C&B Oldfield 0. EASY! EASY!
Them were the days...... The days of Scargill et al!
Enjoyed the ASBO bit?!!
They're a bunch of faggotts nowadays.......silver boots ffs
When I play I still wear Adidas World cups as worn by Beckenbauer (No spelling mistake- Not Beckham) in the '70s. Which in my opinion are, along with Puma King of a similar ilk, the best boots about. **** your blades and your skid-addles.......boots for blokes in a blokes game.

RE: Them were the days...... It was in the day's of the 70's, we all wore pumas or gola kicks. We played against Mapp and St. Micks and it was big news. The funniest thing I ever saw was in a proper game when Dave Deacon blasted it over the bar and this little old fella came out of his garden and said "I've told you abart that yer little red faced Barsteward". In the middle of a proper league game. Dave always had a bit of a red puffy face when playing, so we thought it was ace.
RE: Them were the days...... Thats the point. Although a bit before my time, i say a bit I mean probably 10 years but its only recently that vanity has come into the game.
You ask Barry Venisons hair!!!!!

I think it might be all ******** now ... however, I've never laughed as much at Dirk Hartog / Full Ponty / Tyketical / Hinchcliffe etc so fair play!!
They make me laugh The lot of them. Stupid daft cnuts, but funny. I've even met one or two in real life - shocking/horrid/stinky.
RE: They make me laugh I have to admit TFP has a very weird outlook on life but has the funniest/weirdest sense of humour I have heard......
I bet its funny watching them play football......
