Under the circumstances.......5 panellist and the Chairman attacking him.........I thought he spoke really well ............typical of the BBC - the Chairman and the rest of the panel spending a large part of the program to dissect everything about UKIP But there was no dissection of the other major political parties............I wonder why this was Mr BBC ??? Lets hope UKIP blows the lid of politics with the results today and tomorrow
Tristram hunt didnt come over much better to be honest, sounded like a gobsh**e bully and he was found out with his comments about free schools...
Exactly the kind of diverdionary tactics used by Nigel Farage himself - don't look at us, look at the others. The thing is the other political parties don't have an immediate history of barefaced racism/sexism/homophobia - and if you think that ex city trader Nigel Farage is some anti establishment figure who is going to blow the lid off the parliamentary environment you're a looney. The only result of UKIP getting any power will be less transparency, more jobs and favours for a very certain type of white middle class, public school educated man, and more hostility towards anyone who doesn't fit the mold. Do we need to revisit the comments about taking a hundred gay people outside at gun point? This is a seriously worrying group of people.
Suprised that UKIP/Hamilton was on QT - I didn't think that UKIP target audience would be QT viewers - more like Star, Express, Telegraph and Mail readers ... oh and the iliterate never worked cos illegals took my job brigade ... RE: UKIP voters ....wonder if the electoral ballot suppervisors had to read out the candidates + show them what an X looks like
Evans said they had difficulty appealing to the "educated, cultured and young." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...ing-to-the-educated-and-cultured-9423200.html
UKIP target voter ... homophobes, closet racists, Misogynists .... and the ignorant ... hence the great result in rotherham tarn won't be far behind
ukip don't target QT audiences(studio),they are invited on to try and set them up for a fall.Very rarely do ukip get a decent round of applause on QT,you hear maybe half a dozen clapping, which is just a couple of percent of the audience. If this mornings news is anything to go by then this is a stark contrast to the amount of voters who have actually put pen to paper. Calling these voters thick and illiterate will further their determination to stay away from their previous traditional votes. The two biggest selling newspapers in the country are the sun and the mirror, both dead against ukip.I sell newspapers,so everyday see every newspaper and none of them have actually sided with ukip to any extent,if anything they have been the complete opposite, the media cant be blamed for the surge in their popularity. Many ukip voters yesterday are ex heavy industry workers, pitmen, steelworkers etc,all ex trade union members, not facists or racists, they are people who's life experiences over the last 30 odd years have left them feeling that there is nothing to choose between lab/cons. our first past the post system will ensure ukip do nothing in the general election.I remember in the 80's many labour activists calling for an end to this system because the tories were romping in with about 40% of the vote and in their opinion the other 60% had very little say in what went off in parliament.Ukip seem to be on about a quarter of the entire vote this morning and if this was to be repeated in a general election then they too would be without any representation for their views, simply because of the way our domestic voting system works.
Spot on. There are many people aged 40+ who have lived through the decimation of this country's core heavy industries, like coal mining and steel manufacturing. They have grown bitter and disillusioned at the state of our nation. Employment opportunities for them and their offspring have been and/or are extremely poor. Successive Labour and Tory governments have done nothing to inspire and frustration is growing. These people see the flood of Eastern European immigrants into a country whose services are already at breaking point due to austerity measures, and rightly or wrongly, lay the blame at their door. Like it or not, UKIP are making the noises that many people want to hear and are ripe for such a protest vote that we are now seeing.
