    Summat that video doesn't tell you is that Derek Redmond was disqualified from that race for receiving help. No one remembers the winner of that semi-final, all anyone remembers is the courage of Derek Redmond, but in the record books beside his name it says DNF (Did Not Finish).

    I love the Olympics, but sometimes they're a right bunch of nob heads.

    Read an interview with him about it last year. He said that he got up still thinking he was in with a chance of catching the others and could still make the final. At the time he just couldn't believe that he wouldn't qualify. I don't think he ever recovered from it either...

    the red tape/jobsworth brigade never cease to amaze

    I wonder which pen pushing ****** made that decision...the lad deserved a medal as big as a dustbin lid for that. I was unashamedly weeping watching that. Total guts and total heroics.
