In a pre- match interview Lee Bowyer says that Aiden McGeadys arrival is just what his Addicks youngsters need, because they have been forced to play in what has been an injury ravaged season. Bowyer says " Aiden brings goals and assists and he can make something out of nothing. He's an exceptional player and he will add quality to our squad. Bringing in experience at the back end of the season is very important.!" Never has a truer word been spoken.
By all accounts Mcgady has been bullying the youngsters at Sunderland and been **** stirring.so personally I'd pass on putting him in our team. Josh Scowen on the other hand, I do agree with Bowyer point though .
Bowyer said similar in December when signing Ledley. The difference between Bowyer and Conway? One is a football man. A cont too, but a football man. Ledley, 32, could go straight into Lee Bowyer’s squad for Saturday’s game against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium and the Manager is pleased to have him on board. Bowyer said: “He has experience, he has been in the game a long time, he’s an international player. He’ll come in again and help the young lads that are in around it. I’m over the moon to have him on board.”
Brother in law who is a Sunderland fan was telling me that McGeady is one of five players at the Club earning eye watering amounts. He reckoned he's on circa £31k per week, which for League One is ridiculous.
They were paying Cattermole £40k and Rodwell was apparently on £70k per week. No wonder they needed a big clearout. Unsustainable in League One surely.?
And in the Championship if you don't go straight back up. Rodwell would be costing £3.6m a year on those wages. Bonkers.
Mega bucks. Think they may still gave to pay some if his wages. Fans seem to have done a complete turnaround on him from the Geads this, the Geads that, to he's a selfish player who slows play down.
