Who do people want to take on the role considering this is now a poisoned chalice so so to speak.

I personally think we should take it off Davies so he can concentrate on being GK without the added pressure. It’s worked before with other players.

Mills has experience at this level but only here on a short term deal. Yids has been mentioned but again, only has the 6 month remaining under contract.

    Tough one!?

Perosnally, I would give Hammill the armband. I know with the options now he may not start every game but his head seems to be in the right pace and he seems to have matured..

Disagree. Mills definitely could be, arguably so too could Pinillos

We are fogetting Pinillos and Mills are familiar with one another, so both of them should slot straight in on Saturday.

We're also forgetting Kevin Webster and David Platt know each other and could slot straight in up top to form a great partnership.

I'd give it to McCarthy, he hates fcking Wednesdays

I’d make Yiadom captain with Lindsay as vice captain. Mills is experienced but both of the aforementioned have been leaders on the pitch for us. That being said, I wouldn’t be upset with Mills. I’d be distraught if Davies retained it mind, I’ve never been a fan the keeper/captain, not even when Schmeichel bo****ed the strikers from his six yard box.

Yids. Seeing as he’s staying it should be a no brainer.

Got to give it to an outfield player now. Having a goalkeeper as captain is like not having one and Davies needs to be able to just concentrate on his own game.

He's still a hot head though, which ain't a good example on the pitch. He basically forced Hecky to sub him on Saturday to avoid being sent off!

Hear great things about his influence off the field though.

Definitely take it off Davies. Has always got to be an outfield player, like a Redfearn.
Goalies are not involved in the majority of the action.

Yids for me , it might encourage him to sign a new contact plus his attitude on the pitch is an example to others . Matt Mills is another candidate people have mentioned but when Pinnock is fit I am not so sure he will be a regular

I'd have given it to Josh Scowen a year ago today, along with an improved contract offer. Had we done that, we may not be in the pickle that we currently find ourselves in.

Whoever we give it to will be off in the summer. Thats how its worked with the last 3.

Anyone who thinks Yids will stay beyond the summer if we give it him must be heavily sedated.

Mills surely is that older head that we've been lacking. Given his experience at this level I'd expect him to be getting the armband.
If Yiadom had signed a new contract he'd be in the running, but he'll be off at the end of the season & we desperately need continuity somewhere in the team. I think how well he does & fits in will be the key to whether we can stay up.
