In keeping with the FA initiative to improve the technical side of English play then. Gerrit forrard t' big lad up top. Alongside Gareth Southgate badger I'm pleased the future of English football is in safe hands.
Recall that an unhealthy number of "experts" were calling on Cryne to appoint him. Forget after which sacking...there's been so many.
Correct me if I'm wrong here (I might be) But wasn't he responsible for one of the most successful recent eras with Leeds United youngsters? Didn't that land him the Watford job in the first place? He also brought through lots of talent at Watford I believe, and was credited with the restructure of their younger sides to the benefit of the club over a number of years. Really different responsibility moving up to the first team, and maybe he played the style he did to try and get points rather than develop individuals?
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong here (I might be) Even if that's true, Loko (it is, probably) it doesn't stop me thinking his appointment is unreal. There must be better candidates out there, surely? What next? Kevin Blackwell?
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong here (I might be) I know, I was as shocked as anyone, but then when I thought about it I could at least think of some rationale behind it. Thought the Gareth Southgate appointment was unreal to start with so this doesn't surprise me.
