Have a very bad feeling its gunna be Blackwell.Hope to god im wrong, never liked the bloke and from what i've been told by a leeds fan at work he wasn't too popular with alot of leeds players. My personnel choice of the candidates mentioned is Nigel Worthington.
If it's Blackwell not my first choice either, but if it reassures you , heard via asomeone who works closely with the physio at Leeds that KB was highly regarded by folks there - his attention to detail & professionalism in particular. Apparantly had all Leeds players go in to see physio & get assessed on all aspects of fitness AND personality / leadership tests. One player threw a total wobbler & refused to take part - Geoff Horsfield.
I'd rather have davey if i am honest think we could do far worse than him and i work in leeds and not many people speak highly of KB there 4-5-1 tactics even at HOME
me too Really really dont want Blackwell Davey is a bit unknown - cant say I am sure about him but wouldnt be gutted if we gave him a longer chance, I would be gutted if its Blackwell
RE: If it's Blackwell ive got nothing against Blackwell did well to get Leeds to the playoff final feel sorry for managers who have to manage a team who just lost out on promotion or lost in the playoffs because it must be hard/take time to get morale back up. Hes been travelling abroad to clubs like Real Madrid and Inter Milan to aquire furtheer training skills since being sacked at Leeds.
Not my first choice either . However When he left Sheffield United , in the summer of 2003 , it was just after they'd reached two major semi-finals and the play off final , too . The following season saw a big drop in the performances and results . A lot of Blades fans were quite vociferous in their condemnation of Warnock at the time and were of the opinion that their successes of the previous season were more to do with Blackwell than Colin . Leeds United were in a total mess , off and on the field , when he became manager . Three years later , they were within 90 minutes of a return to the Premiership . Are Leeds United any better with Dennis Wise at the helm ? Just playing Devil's Advocate .
Got to say can't really understand all the negativity re Blackwell the guy seems to be well thought of in the game and I feel that he may have been caught up in over expectations at Leeds, another club who seem to think that they are entitled to piss on everybody else without trying.Davy I think could be potentially embarrassing for us as if we do'nt keep him he seems to have the potential to go on and be a succeess somewhere else and its hard to judge him fairly because he's been restricted by the shorcomings of the previous regime i.e. precious little to work with in some areas where there are no alternatives for him to use
RE: Got to say can't really understand all the negativity re Blackwell i echo your thoughts, could turn out to be like boothroyd and leeds (i know he was never their caretaker manager), would defo rather have davey than blackwell but worthington would be a good choice
A BIG backward step a man who ruined Leeds, but best buds wi Gorden, so gets job, a disaster and one likley to turn fans away, and after reading Gordons defensive article in program yesterday I almost certain Blackwell has been pencilled in. Lets hope its not true, I and many BFC fans will be gutted if he`s appointed.
FFS THeres no wonder we struggle too many people on here and at the well not willing to give people a chance thats players and managers potential or otherwise
