im a new poster over the moon with the great win at leicester. overall i think kieth hill is doing a very good job with the financial constraints he is under however i dont like alot off the things he i says in is interviews dont get me wrong im pleased with our league position but the way he talks is all about kieth hill rather than barnsley and i dont like the constant digs at supporters.
Welcome Thing you have to remember with his interviews is he's a football manager and a relatively inexperienced one at that. He's not a politician. He's (presumably) not been trained in public speaking or handling the media. All sorts can flow from your mouth when a microphone is put in front of it. Dwell on one point too long, forget to mention something else. I lose all grasp of English so he's one up on me. Then there's the issue that the reporters are asking him loaded questions. A lot of managers deal with it by being very cagey. Hill seems to let fly with a naive disregard and I think it would be a shame to curb that. Just enjoy the colourful stuff he comes out with. And the football!
Welcome Ricky, I can understand how he can wind some supporters up but I rather like how open he is, I think it's such a refreshing change to see a manager telling it how he sees it, like i've said before I think we've got some exciting times ahead of us.
I like Hill and think he's doing a great job but he just doesn't seem interested in trying to have a positive relationship with the fans. The only downside for me yesterday was that he gave the fans a less than a second applause whilst turning his back on us and walking towards the tunnel!I think he missed an opportunity there to have a great moment with the traveling fans who were great yesterday! He is obviously very stubborn on his views from earlier in the season blaming the fans for some dreadful performances, but maybe this is one of his strengths!!
I wouldn't let it bother you too much, it just seems to be the way he is and I'd guess it's a big part of his management strategy that has worked so well for him up to now. While ever the positives far outweigh the negatives we should just be happy we have such a good manager and management team and accept him warts and all.
