Went down to the club on Sunday and decided to treat myself and my 8 month old to the new home shirt. Put mine on straight away, no problems. 5 hours later though, and the amount of 'pulls' on there is in double figures! Got my 8 months old shirt out last night, ready for him to wear today and what do I find.... The badge is hanging off, and a massive pull under the right sleeve. As anyone else had any problems with the shirt?? Def taking the young un's back to the club to be exchanged but will have to live with mine.

RE: Why will you have to live with it? I've worn mine so just presumed that they wouldn't take it back. The son's is fresh out the bag, minus labels so I think they should exchange that.

Fit for purpose A lot will depend on whether the "pulls" are a feature of the new shirt that everybody is living with. If not, then the issue is whether the shirt is fit for purpose, or is the perfect article it was created to be. If that isn't the case then it should be exchanged. And if the club is interested in the quality of its merchandise and satisfaction of its customers, they should be pleased to do that and there should not be a problem. In the case of your son's shirt, that sounds like poor quality control during manufacture, and again the club should be only too pleased to replace it and send it back to the makers. Let us know how you go on.

regardless of whether you have worn it or not they legally HAVE to take it back you bought it for the purpose of wearing a smooth shirt for 9 months i presume? if it is already pulling then it isnt fit for that purpose andmust legally be exchanged or refunded.
Sale of goods act 1980 I think. Goods must be of merchantable quality and fit for the purpose. If not, take them back and don't get fobbed off. You have rights, use them !!!!(furious)
RE: Sale of goods act 1980 true, the sale of goods act is a good tool but it shouldnt resort to that, if like you say you only bought it last week then the club will exchange it no problems providing you havent washed it and it doesnt look like you have been playing football in it i.e. its not caked in siht
it makes no difference if it has been washed a football shirt is designed to be washed. if it cannot be washed without being damaged then it isnt fit for the purpose that it was sold. the same with having played football in it, if you cannot do that in a football shirt without it falling to pieces then it isnt fit for the purpose and must legally be exchanged.
