It's supposed to look like a tie, so the players don't have to bother changing when they go out to dinner. They can just slip a jacket over the top.

    Cost cutting

Putting the white arm band on it looks odd too - i take it that's the captain's arm band. Yeah, I won't be forking out for that shirt either. Let's hope for a fantastic away shirt.

Never fussed about kits really - but the prices are stupid. £10 for a pair of socks?!

One of the best kits I've ever had was beaver. Dark blue away kit, it was brilliant.

£44 for a non-brand shirt. Will Barnsley fans pay that?

    Don't really like the "tie"

Remember it for when Andy Saville scored a last minute winner at Bramall Lane.

Avec? Sheff Utd late 90's in that ghastly kit, that's my memory. Time to bring in Puma or Adidas before we're back with Red Flag.

***** kit. Out of about 40 responses so far I've seen one person who says he likes it, looks like the kit might be a pretty hard sell this time round

I reckon it's a template for the black arm band when someone dies

I don't mind it to be fair

We play in red and white. Its red and white. You either stick a collar on it or you don't.

If you go with a radical design it's likely to be a bit marmite, go too simple and people moan it's just a red shirt.

Personally i prefer symmetry to a design so would like a band on the opposite sleeve too.

But if we get promoted in it, i don't think we'll be too bothered about its design at the end of the season
