How unfriendly can they get Is there no better headline to that story than BARNSLEY FC STATEMENT? It sounds like some dictator barking out orders
RE: How unfriendly can they get That's a standard policy really that you get in most workplaces. Just clarifies an earlier question on here.
It is a statement aimed at the media, specifically about media requests Yet instead of putting it in the media requests section where the media would naturally look, they put it in the general news section read by fans.
why its spot on, prevents people claiming to be reporters having access and putting heresay on internet forums......
I agree What the statement is saying is possibly correct (no idea about other clubs) it's just the wording and location of the statement that is very negative and distances the club further from its supporters
it's the same in any workplace if the media come to me & ask for comments on a project i'm involved in, i have to get director approval before i speak to them & for what i say. it's common practice i would think at all football clubs. it should also be considered as good manners by the media organisaton to ask first. if a person walked in to your workplace and started asking your employees lots of questions without permission you'd be a bit put out.
RE: it's the same in any workplace i thought i'd read that radio dee-dah had him in the blunts line-up so perhaps they had tried to get the first interview with him as a sheff u player?
Radio sheffield did have him as being on the bench but apparently this was because sheffield united issued a teamsheet with him on it but then quickly recalled the sheet when they realised. I'm not sure how the hell that can happen but there you go.
It is because if he was on their team sheet then i'd love to know why. Was the team sheet written before the statement on monday? If so then that sounds crazy. Or did they write it after the deal had fallen through? In which case I think the club have every right to make a formal complaint to the football league.
