Hate to judge but I feel he might be a gamble too far. At 24, he aint THAT young really. He seems to want first team football too, which maybe Carlisle could give him. I'm all for giving young lads a chance, but surely we could get someone a little higher in the league structure?
he was at Norwich. I would say maybe forget his age because he came in to game late. he came into pro game at 21 or so.
It isn't always the case, wasn't Lee Trundle about 26 when he got his opportunity at the FL. I wouldn't even say it's a gamble, he'll want minimum money and the worst that could happen is that in 12 months time, the club doesn't see anything in him which they like. I do see your point though.
Re: Didnt he used to be the lead singer with Frankie Goes To Hollywood? year below me at school this lad. i reckon he'd be a decent signing, but any signing is a gamble.
Re: Didnt he used to be the lead singer with Frankie Goes To Hollywood? I have to be honest, I played against him 3 or 4 years ago in the Wakefield Sunday League before he signed for Stockport, and he didn't really stand out.
Re: Didnt he used to be the lead singer with Frankie Goes To Hollywood? he used to play with Ossett as a junior, was playing for Nostell WMC 3 yrs ago and went for a trial at Stockport and got taken on, did alright there but never a regular at Norwich. He's certainly filled out a bit since his junior days, scrawny little lad as a kid
Re: Didnt he used to be the lead singer with Frankie Goes To Hollywood? He was actually playing for a pub side when I played against him called Shepherds Arms. He scored a couple of goals and people said he was going for trials with Stockport, but he didn't stand out. When I was a junior I played against Cameron Jerome in the Huddersfield league and he stood out a lot more.
A goal every 5 games or so in mainly lower league football....I'd rather we gave one of our own a chance like Rigby.
It was mentioned on radio dee dar earlier and they said Hill saw him as a young prospect whereas the player wanted first team football so it looked unlikely anything would happen with us and Carlisle were favourites to sign him. So he'll be a tarn player by the weekend.
Reuben Noble-Lazarus, Danny Rose, Jordan Clark. Rather we gave them chances, and signed a left-back or winger. Reuben hasnt had a bad game whenever picked, and it frustrates me to see Done ahead of him. I like Done, but Reuben is better
I've played with him at Nostell. He's not bad but believe me, he's definitely not upto the Championship. He's not got the head for the game.
spot on whitey, everyone likes to see new signings coming to the club but surely some of our better prospects should be given more of a chance rather than taking a punt on someone elses cast off
