To use our best players and their strengths... How about the dutch style 4-1-2-3. Or 4-5-1. Depending on whether we have the ball or not. Howard and Leon in the same team pulling the strings. Loads of creativity and we might actually hold onto the ball and dictate the tempo. Colace sitting infront of the defence breaking up play and keeping possesion. JCR and Hume working the channels going forward and getting behind the ball when we don't have it. Macken holding up play for Howard, Hume and JCR to move forward. Foster and Souza - our best pairing in the centre last season. Kozluk and El Haimour to give extra width when needed. El Haimour to get forward. Muller Kozluk Foster Sousa El Haimour Colace Howard Leon Hume Campbell-Ryce Macken When Da Silva gets back - well it justs get better. Roll on the 2008/20009 season.
How many matches will we play... between 2008 and 20009 ? And will there be any promotions and relegations But I agree with you, it's about time we started playing like we did under Danny (whether it's 3-5-1 or 3-1-4-2 or whatever)
RE: Campbell-Ryce on the left Not really left wing, its left channel cutting inside on his right - think Thierry Henry! A fluid formation with players not stuck to one patch. Slick stylish footie - Danny Wilson-esque
Surely you are not dropping Da Silva? Headache selections for SD in the middle of the park if Howard stays. I am sure we will see wing backs this season in a fair few games so more scope for playing Da Silva, Howard and Colace. Also Leon to fit in. Can't wait for season (although I am convinced Howard will go).
