With Roberts, Scowen and Watkins likely to depart and all the loan players gone, what will next season's team look like? Davies, Yiadom and Angus can be pencilled in. There may be better to come from Adam Jackson as his development continues. But we look to need more cover at CB. A fit Aidy White on the left would be a bonus, but there are obvious question marks about keeping him injury-free. Otherwise we look short in that position. Moncur, Mowatt and Lee (if the toys are all back in the pram) will be in contention in midfield, but without more players or loanees there we'll surely have to get more game time from Hammill. What are the chances of stealing back Morsy now Wigan are down? Up front, Tom Bradshaw is willing, but has he fully made the step up to Championship football yet? The summer may further aid his development with further work from the coaching staff. We don't really know yet what, if anything can be expected from Hedges or Payne, but I thought the latter looked promising in limited opportunities this season. There is a big experience deficit in that position though. Hecky and JC seem to suggest we have identified targets ready to pursue, so let's hope the new CEO can be got through the door very early on, and is ready to go in the first 2-3 weeks of the close season. The staff are going to need every minute of the break to work with the new recruits and the remaining players. A CEO with Mansford-style expertise is badly needed. Perhaps the delay suggests we might have someone who is in post elsewhere until the end of this season?
Wonder if you'll get accused of repetition. Hecky clearly doesn't rate Lee so wouldn't expect to see him. We probably need fifteen players. If not more.
Isn't Sessi Almeida (sp?) back in training. He looked like he had potential in the short cameos I saw of him. That's another midfielder. We're still short of bodies by the way.
