Hi All, Just to let you know that there is definitely going to be some new large displays/screens around Oakwell soon =) I work for an AV company based in Preston and we have just got the contract to supply and install in total 22 large format displays for around the concourses in the East, North and Ponty ends and also in the players lounges, the executive suites and the hospitality suits. Plus we are also supplying/installing new projectors & projection screens (not sure how these will be used) and also tactical boards for the home/away dressing rooms. We have to perform a site survey and do the schematics on Tuesday but i'm not sure when the installs will be taking place.. I'll keep you posted. P.S Not sure whats happening with the new scoreboard - If its happening it's not us supplying it. cheers.
Errrr....can we **** the rest off, and have a scoreboard that's not actually embarrassing please. Cheers xxx
The new scoreboard has already been ordered, the company I work for have been asked about fitting the supporting framework.
I can't get excited about this, not one little bit. All I am bothered about is seeing improvement "on the field". I really do not give a **** what the score is between Brighton v Charlton after 57 mins.
Tend to agree, but we have to move with the times. And the squad is more than ample. The mgmt team just need to start doing the business
Got to agree, the only thing I want to see is the time left to play, including added time, not bothered about owt else.
Good news this, I'm sure when compared to player wages the cost of doing this is a drop in the ocean so the "would rather see it spent on the pitch" argument isn't really relevant. You've also got to think about the impression things like this gives off to potential signings and investors - even though the majority of Oakwell isn't that old, it goes to show you how quickly things can turn ugly when you neglect maintenance. Probably never happen but a mezzanine floor in the East Stand with a proper bar that's worth going to a few hours before the game and open for a few hours after would be great and I'm sure it would be well utilized - I've been in similar at several away grounds and they have always been busy. Most importantly they actually feel like a bar and not just a random soulless room with beer served through a hole in the wall.
I dont need the post code matey, been going there for many years, will go again when Fltcroft has departed, although I hope it is quite a while before I do go to watch a match there ! 2 Donner kebabs please heavy on the Garlic sauce!
Are you sure he's Greekman? From what I can remember he could be witty on occasion. Sapzticus is just tedious. Really tedious. He's as bad as HT for hijacking threads. Strange behaviour for someone in their sixties.
