    We're all kicking ideas around.

Fact is, we've never been in this situation with a Ben and Uncle Mo before. They have connections and ideas, no doubt.

    Kind of exciting, but scary?

All our usual hunches and guesses - all bets are off!

The new territory is that we have people with real important connections, not the absent Patrick, Junket Barry and The Don.

We've gotta have optimism that this time we might actually appoint somebody of substance or potential, with a real eye for the long term.

Our old life would suggest Warnock or Wilson at best. But the BenMo axis might bring into play Scholes/Phelan/Butt or the like?

What long term is this that you talk of. First time the fans get a bit uppity, Cryne and co will piss their pants.

Although I'd like to think Mansford and Watkins' 'connections' will provide a better short list than we've had previously, I suspect finances will inevitably dictate.

We've no money, either to pay the prospective new manager or to provide a transfer kitty. With relegation looking increasingly likely, I don't think we're in a strong position to attract any fanciful names.

In my opinion, the best of the available and potentially interested parties would be Wilson. Not just because I'm a sentimental bugger, his record is undoubtedly good.

Wilson has a decent track record and is still a firm favourite with many, with more than a strong possibility he will bring more fans through the turnstyles.I reakon come Wednesday he'll be the new manager.

For the record I'd prefer Holloway.
