    I've read the board for a while and thought I'd sign up...

    I've supported the reds since being a young un.. Not from a football loving family and not from Barnsley, it took a certain footballer by the name of Clint Marcelle (you might have heard of him) to get me to follow the reds... He was a mate of my uncle and used to take us to matches... I've been coming back ever since...

    I'm a season ticket holder in the Ponte end..

    Welcome CT. I am assuming your name is because you live in Cantley in Donny.?
    I'm originally from Hatfield and now live in Ossett. When I played Sunday League
    Football over home , my local team Greenfield United used to have some really close games
    with Cantley FC. They were a very good side and won the Sunday League Premier League.
    We went on to eventually get the better of them in the end and won the Premier and the Sunday Challenge Cup
    on three occasions. Look forward to hearing your views mate and welcome to the BBS.

    I've voted once in my life and it was only because the young un wouldn't sleep, so we had a drive.. Me and the Mrs voted opposite to cancel each other out...

    Even 2 and a half years later I haven't got a clue what's right... The more worrying thing is neither do the government.

    I grew up in Skellow and moved over this end of town when I was mid twenties with the Mrs.

    Nice to have another red from Donny on here!

    It’s Ponte as in short for Pontefract road end or that’s how I was told more than fifty odd years ago anyway .

    Suppose it’s in the eye of the Writer tbh but the reasoning I was told which makes more sense is as I have mentioned . But as it’s mostly spoken than written it all boils down into the same .
