It was good to see my least favourite club show just how massive they are last night and the commentary on Sky was one of the worst examples of blinkered idioticy i've ever heard. I'm still laughing this morning.
and Sky cleverly kept the completely empty top tier out of shot then mistakenly showed it when going on about "the most passionate fans in football". Yeah right
DEPOR! DEPOR! Might wear my Deportivo shirt for the dress down day in the office tomorrow - should impress the couple of Newcastle fans at least! Unfortunately I didn't see the game as my Sky system was playing up - kept freezing on the Sky Sports channels.
oh if you'd watched you'd have wanted to smash the screen in. Depor we're all cheating foriegners, always diving, Shearer however was a "clever player" every time he dove. At one bit he went straight through the back of Capadevilla and gave a free kick away. "Oh that would never be a foul in the Premiership" Erm, yes it would, it would have been a free kick on Mars. Depor also would never have faced an atmosphere like that last night because as we all know both Real Fascist and Barca have tiny grounds which never sell out at all ever whilst playing in front of 35,200 Geordies who have all been NUFC fans all their lives (well since 1993), must have been so intimidating. Pathetic.
and From BBC Sport "Newcastle are Michael Owen's only realistic option in the Premiership if he decides to leave Real Madrid. (Daily Mail)" I'll have ten bob on him going back to Liverpool before the season starts who wants to go to Newcastle?
Francesco Coco apparently!!! Fros SkySports "Italian international Francesco Coco is in talks with Newcastle about a move to Tyneside. Coco arrives in England on Thursday to discuss a transfer to St James' Park" So there!
RE: oh if you'd watched I saw a bit on the news where Shearer barged the Depor keeper Molina and then he was protesting that it wasn't a foul! Finally got around to reading "Morbo" on holiday, very interesting, particularly the stuff about Barca during the Civil War and Franco years.
Lol he nearly took Molina's head off the dirty @:~######. Yes, in no way did Barca and it's fans suffer at all. Oh no.
You did ask!!!! He'll do alright for Newcastle. He's the "Italian Roberto Carlos" dont you know!! ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff
yep and he's the most over-rated left back in the world. Constantly out of position, can't score any more, tackles badly, pace gone. Yeah sounds about the same actually. Romantic things about football that aren't true number one. Roberto Carlos is one of the best free kick takers in the world. Last goal scored by Carlos from a free kick, 2002.
RE: yep "the most over-rated left back in the world. Constantly out of position, can't score any more, tackles badly, pace gone" Should fit in well at Newcastle!!!
ha haaa...sounds about right anyway, when Sounness was purported to have excused himself with "well, La Coruna have been playing alot of Champs Lge football in recent years" I think he signed his death warrant. Does he think Mags will be happy with "oh well, we're just not good enough" kinda talk? They want, nay DEMAND "we are the biggest and bestest on the planet, we deserve to win trophies, us" Still, looks like I'll not get to repeat my demented fool act of jumping around in a pub as Sporting knocked the goals in. I was starting to really worry the f***ers would actually win a trophy.
oh, I've seen Carlos score since then... but I have ALWAYS thought he's the world's most overrated player. He simply cannot defend to save his life. Thankfully, (for him) he can be cracking going forward and thus is surrounded by players at Real and Brazil that make him not look quite so bad as they have the ball 70% of the time! And, like Mad Tom, he's a bit of a risk taker who has more confidence than his ability should allow. I'm amazed Real haven't grabbed Ashley this summer while they can. Presumably (like us) Real are happy not to win owt this year...
RE: oh if you'd watched Fair challenge. Eye on the ball all the way, and show me a player who doesn't use his arm for leverage when jumping for a header. Goalkeepers are so overprotected it's a joke. Some of Newcastle's challenges were well OTT, some of Depor's theatrics were a disgrace, some of the refereeing was a disgrace, some of the commentary was so biased it made me feel sick. However, Emre, Parker, Carr and Boumsong are worthy of praise no matter how much you might hate Newcastle. They were all excellent.
is that FRANZ Carr? Is he still there? Has he slowed down (must be getting on a bit)? Can he cross a ball yet?
