WBA chairman been on t'radio. He said problem is Steele's wages when he signs permanent in Summer, difference between what he's on now, and what we have offered. however, he thinks a deal will be done. BBC sports reporter said WBA have been picking up 60% of his wages whilst on loan to us and suggests each of the 3 parties need to give a bit to get a deal done, plus BFC to give a 50% sell on fee to WBA.
Its all down to the players agent IMHO, 8k a week sounds a bit expensive for a keeper who will be mainly a backup next season. I'll bet Kyle Letheran hopes the deal goes tits up
Not half They've probably had less to do with his development than Man Utd and Coventry http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=18905
WBA have us by the ****** and make out its us thats holding back the deal, there just trying to get all they can.
Lets Back Our Board From what we have heard (obviously rumours), they want us to take on his 8k a week wages and give them a 50% sell on clause. If that's the case I don't blame us for not making the deal happen. WBA think they can hold us to ransom with the cup run we are having. I just hope it's not down to Steele not wanting to take a pay cut from next season. I would think he would have to have his wage cut in half to stay. It will depend on how much he wants to play at Wembley, have first team football and possibly play in the Uefa Cup.
If we put Steele on 8k a week... ... does this mean that Kozluck will be on 8,001 per week ?
Also WBA could end up with a third choice keeper for 18 mths at 8K
Also BFC could end up with a keeper that fecks the wages structure,
Also Steele could end up being third choice and fading into obscurity.
WBA didn't sign Steele as a third choice, he was destined for better things. If they think they've dropped a bollock there's no reason why we should pick up the tab .

RE: They want us to pay his wages when he's playing for us! I have to be honest and thats a disgrace.
Just because he is playing for us doesnt mean we should be paying him.

Do we pay the wages of any other players? I think their previous clubs should all pay for them, how can we be expected to pay all that money out?
RE: If we put Steele on 8k a week... We wouldnt even give our on loan goal machine from Newcastle 5 grand a week.
Even if it has I doubt it will allow that sort of wage for a 2nd keeper when we can niether guarantee he can play if we make the final nor that we will be in this division next season with our current finances
