Said Ferenczi To Sign For Wolves,
But Last Season It Said David Villa Was Going To Sign For Liverpool For 150million

Why should our Board have to admit/deny anything based on speculation and hearsay? You start a rumour and what ... everyone jumps?!
News Of The World - also said we were going to sign Kenwyne Jones in a 200k deal at the start of the season.
Surely we haven't put a clause in again ala McIndoe I don't believe that's true. The chairman was loathed to put the McIndoe one in and I wouldn't have though Ferenczi would have requested one. Claptrap is my summary of the story.
RE: the mcindoe situation was one big McIndoe and his agent used BFC. That said, McIndoe had an history of believing he was bigger than his previous clubs. McIndoe scored a few goals for us, most notably the equaliser v Leeds at home and the first goal in the 3-2 win at Hull. Without those goals we could already be dead certs for relegation so let's not forget we got our money back together with some early season quality, albeit for only around a dozen games or so. Whilst BFC have lied and used the fans this season I do have some sympathy over the McIndoe episode.
You're right, we should never have got rid of our promotion winning winger and replaced him with someone with such a low release fee without making sure we had any backup at all. That's what we should never have done. Still, at least it was the maangers decision to release shuker and bring in mcindoe knowing full well there was every chance he could walk after a month. Oh bugger, thats right, the manager didnt make the decision did he.
Shuker probably not good enough for this league tried and failed to hold the club to ransom. We made approx 125k on McIndoe and had the player of the season for the time he was here to boot along with a few good goals...shocking eh? sack the board. Why did McIndoe leave?
RE: Shuker probably not good enough for this league No he didnt try to hold the club to ransom, the other players took their time accepting deals too. And I think its worth noting that the club never offered this team that was doing so well any contracts until the season was over. Loyalty from the club was shocking. And I don't think it was good business because we've lacked in that position ever since he left because we never had any cover. we made 125k minus his wages, minus his signing on fee and probably minus the cost of relegation
RE: the mcindoe situation was one big But surely a good contract negotiator would have been able to convince mcindoe that he was worth more than £250k and that any 'big' club that seriously rated him would be willing to pay at least 500k
RE: the mcindoe situation was one big I agree - sadly our Manager was on one of his two holidays during the summer break when we first expressed our interest in McIndoe and had to leave a lot of the negotiating to GS. GS is an hard nosed businessman but both he and Ritchie in particular lacked the necessary Sales skills to convince a number of players they should sign for the Reds (maybe we could have got somebody from Barclays to sell the club to McIndoe?!)
he does have a point though all seemed a bit silly. or maybe the clause he did have but only comes in after 1 season then at least we would have got that out of him. i think if he were still here shuker would get a game now, so perhaps we should have retained him as cover.
A load of cadswallop. Oooh, Barnsley are a small club, therefore their star player will leave. Let's make up a club he's going to go to. I bet you the percentage of rumours in that paper that come true is less than 10%.
