BARNSLEY

SIMON DAVEY kept Barnsley up against the odds - and he will have to perform the same miracle again this season.
Davey, who took over las November, has tried to strengthen by bringing in foreign imports and experienced pros.
Peruvian international Miguel Mostto has joined from Cienciano but the loss of Daniel Nardiello to QPR could be costly.

    RE: Good

Amazing how it's changed since we dared to end their fairytale of the small club in the big time, how selfish of us.

    Amazing - 24th???

Even though Blackpool, Bristol City and Scnuthorpe are newly promoted. I can see Blackpool really struggling this season.

Fair enough if they can see us struggling but 24th is a bit strong int it! Oh well!

    To be fair to them

The last time we played we got absolutely tonked by WBA and looked the worst side in the division. Pre-season results don't look any better i.e lucky to get a draw at Rotherham, stuffed by Bury.

These boys are neutrals and unbiased so to them we look like relegation fodder.

May be its us who have our rose-tinted specs on?

Teams won't fancy going to that hole of a ground, they are a unknown quantity at this level, they have just come up and so will be up for it more than most and they have strengthened well.

    RE: 96-97 relegation fodder?

From my recollection we were 20 - 1: not relegation fodder. Remember, we had finished 6th and 10th in the previous two seasons.

thats what I am confused about.

The two previous seasons to promotion we had shown ourselves to be more than capable of doing well in the league.

    Rose tinted specs???

Not me Im a realist but when the same paper has Leeds as one ofthe promotion favourites after being deducted points and Blackpool tipped for a top 15 finish in our division it becomes ridiculous.
