    It would be nice if Barnsley DID have cobbled streets

    They look spot on in Edinburgh. Chuffin expensive to upkeep though, I'd imagine. So let everyone think Barnsley has posh cobbled streets (instead of the reality - some of the worst, patched up, uneven roads in western europe!).

    Some of the stereotypes are actually endearing, it's just the backward, out-dated, town of simpletons image that will hurt the town's economy.

    Yes, they are a bit treacherous...

    especially when wet. Doesn't help if you're stumbling over to the chuck wagon, battered after a night on the Hartleys!
