I’d like it to be Eddie Howe but I don’t see him leaving Newcastle for it. Realistically Potter makes a lot of sense.
I can’t see us going down the non-English route again. But I have often thought about how differently Juergen Klopp would set this team up and have them playing.
Someone to give players the freedom to express themselves not stifle their natural game. But that needs also a team to compliment Each other . Sadly that person is not alive. Norman Hunter. Else I haven't got a clue.
I think to win something we need to go down the foreign route this time. I’d love England to win it with an English manager but the pool is really thin to pick from. Eddie Howe or Potter are the obvious candidates. Foreign wise then they have to have a conversation with Klopp first due to him being out of work or chuck money at Pep. Apart from those we need a manager who has an attacking press style to get the best out of these lot. Pochettino or Bielsa would be the best out of a bad bunch. They have team ethic that I think would suit our players. It is out of the box with those two tho.
The team is pretty much set up for Neill Collins to walk straight into the job. Only concern is whether a Scotsman could be tempted/trusted with the job.
Eddie howe' he's always been able to get the best out of his teams' for me Southgate hasn't been playing to the players strengths.
Klopp would suit this squad of players strengths - I don’t think he’d want it, especially so soon out of club management when he’s said he wants a rest too. But I’d be enquiring.
Won't be this time but Will Still is the guy to watch. Never played professionally but just got the Lens job at 33 years old. Belgian but with English parents
