I'm afraid he's lost the plot. Can't kick, flaps at crosses and has cost us numerous points recently.

2 at Watford obviously, but today the first goal comes as he doesn't command his area and causes panic in the defence, the second should NEVER be scored from there by a left footer - it wasn't even a powerful strike. And the third was him and Foster.

The problem is that Steele's had no match practice whatsoever so would be ring rusty if he were brought in.

Why our 2nd keeper doesn't play in the reserves is beyond me.

I really liked Heinz for a long time and am gutted to have to post this, but he's becoming a liability.

Steele must really be fed up as I barely recall him making an error in a Barnsley shirt.

Clearly, Davey was hoping to get good money for Muller

That's why he was so keen to get him back in the team (at the expense of Steele). The plan was then to bring Steele back into the team after Muller had been sold. Unfortunately, there haven't been any takers for Muller...

Might give him a bell if Danny gets injured

Or maybe a back up for WorldNet.

It would seem to be the sensible and fair thing to do

That's the way the world works surely. Muller has the blunders playing on his mind, starting to look over his shoulder, Steele should be ready to step in. Would dropping Muller ruin his confidence or serve to refocus his mind, allowing him to come back fighting for his place? I imagine the latter.

I thought fair enough when Muller replaced Steele because Muller had shown himself to be an excellent keeper but now it looks like time to give Steele a go.

Bit late now

The damage has been done. Sloppy goals have been conceded, points have been dropped and a promising young goalkeeper by the name of Luke Steele has been alienated as he couldn't get a game no matter how many **** ups Muller made.

100% agree with all that mate

Steele has to come back for me, ring-rusty or not. Davey dropped Steele for doing nothing wrong in the 1st place - and tbh I was happy with that because an on form Muller is possibly the best outside the Premier League IMO. But now the time has come to bring Steele back.

Like you say though, for him not to have been playing reserve team football is ridiculous.

Think you may be right

When we signed Steele I thought our Keepers would be a major factor in us staying up, competition for a starting place from two very accomplished players.

Its not worked out like that though. Steele has been frozen out and Muller has been safe in his position. Steele was dropped for a mistake in one game, Muller hasn't had the same treatment, and he should have done.

Putting Steele in might just give us the kick we need. He'll want to prove Davey wrong.

But is Steele match sharp? He hasn't played for months. Didn't stop him at Anfield like...

Muller has not been the same since he was injured against Colchester

but simple made him play on when he was clearly injured

"I won that battle" said Simple after the match

What a c-unt

Blaming Davey is easy

but is it really the managers fault that Muller fumbled the ball at Watford and coughed it up against Swansea? After he'd made a couple of world class saves against the Blunts to keep us in the game. Sticking by him or dropping him, no doubt Davey will get the blame if it backfires, and Muller or Steele the credit if it works.

RE: Blaming Davey is easy

Muller made a cracking save yesterday (can't remember if it was at 1-0 or 2-0)

He is still capable of pulling off cracking saves but he last other things from his game - doesn't seem to be as quick to come of his line, can't seem to command his area, flaps a lot and his kicking has been discussed at length

A lot of this must stem from his injury and Simple has to take responsibility for that by making him play on when he clearly wanted to come off

How much additional damage was done

to his knee from playing on? I've no idea, but those 3 points from that win helped keep us up last year, and with Stan in the net, I doubt we'd have got them.

For the record, I would drop Muller, and infact I think I'd have done it after the Norwich away game, where he made more than one costly mistake. Maybe Steele wouldve come in and done well. Maybe not. Judging by Kidds comments today in the Star, I suspect there will be a change for Reading, lets hope it works out.

Simon's line-up for Reading:

GK: Jamal (Arabic for Camel, I believe)
RB: Coulson
CH: Macken
CH: O'Hanlon
LB: Hammill
RM: Moore
CM: Kozluk
CM: Muller
LM: Hassell
CF: Foster
CF: Jay

Subs: Obama, Odejayi, Oster, Oji & Oldspeckledhen.

He will play an oscillating 4-1-2-1-2 formation, with a side salad.
He will then blame the weak dollar for our 11-0 defeat.
