Approx 11000 I reckon. Could have been a lot more had it not been for the last 2 games. The away end should be fairly full.
It will probably be around 11000 as you say but I dont think 2 poor away performances will make any real difference to our home support good performances didnt increase it above the normal faithful who will still turn out. 9 - 9500 home fans 1500 away
RE: Away end fairly full? It's Barns-Free Not Barnsley! Posted on: Fri 12 Oct 2007 Thanks to North End partner Traveline, part of Lancashire County Council, North End are able to offer ten free coaches for fans for the trip to Oakwell to face Simon Davey's Barnsley on Saturday 3rd November. The Lilywhites always take a good following to South Yorkshire for the Roses clash - last year over 1,600 crossed the Pennines - and now we're making it more affordable than ever with this fantastic offer. North End skipper Kevin Nicholls says that the extra support could play a big part in a successful result, as North End look to repeat last year's 1-0 win: "Our away form is something we are desperate to improve upon. "This gesture should mean we have a fantastic following at Oakwell and we will be trying very hard to give them something to celebrate and shout about. The fans who travel with us spend a lot of money throughout the season and this is a great way of giving them something back and three points to go with it will make it worthwhile!" North End have been allocated 6,000 tickets for the game in the North Stand of Oakwell and these are priced at £20 for adults, £12 for senior citizens and under 18's, and £6 for juniors under 11, which must be purchased with a full paying adult. Tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders first on Wednesday 17th October and Thursday 18th October, one per voucher 'B' and they can also exchange voucher 'C' for a free coach ticket.* On Friday 19th October MyPNE cardholders who are not season ticket holders will have their chance to get tickets and will need to show their card to take the chance of a free coach ticket (subject to availability after season ticket sales). General sale will be Tuesday 23rd October. One of those ten free coaches will be a special disabled coach for wheelchaired supporters and helpers. Barnsley have supplied nine wheelchair and nine helper tickets, priced £20 for the pair, and when booking you can also take advantage of the free coach. The YNE coach is also running for this game, with ticket and travel included in the reduced price of £15 for adults and £5 for juniors, to book on this call 01772 693358 or email yne@pne.com; the child must be a YNE member. Once the free places have all been filled, additional coaches will still be running, but at a cost price of £10 per person, no concessions, making it as affordable as possible for you to get on the road and get behind Paul Simpson's side.
They will never sell 6000 tickets Why the selective ticket release that doesnt make any sense to me Last season - pushing for promotion 1600 This season in relegation scrap - cant see em bringing more that 1500 free travel or not In any case in the completely implausible case of them selling 6000 we'd probably let them have half the west stand as well
1,600 does not constitute "fairly full" Free travel for the first 500 or so won't increase their following and they aren't doing too well
Won't most bonfires be at the weekend? It'll be being on Sky though that will have an adverse effect - not sure how much as the original date would have been a Champions League night and that always seems to affect our attendance as well.
hard for us to get to night matches anyway so being on sky is a bonus, well, wasnt last monday i guess, as we will at least get to see the game
