Cracking trips now to Derby, Reading & Brum - that's as good as it gets for us. QPR will splash the cash, Charlton, Wolves & Sheff Utd will be looking for a vast improvement on last year and the losing sides in the play-offs will be trying to go one better. Theres even talk of us signing a few players. Whatever next. Swansea, Forest & maybe Leeds will make our division one of the most competetive in years. It's gonna be tough. Roll on the fixture list, June 19th I believe.
Yes it looks like a great league to be in. Come the end of next season i wonder if we will still be in it. (dunno)
It may be even more interesting than you think.
If the court rules in favour of Langston you could well start the season waving your dream stadium goodbye, with a10 point deduction and unable to buy anyone in.
Of course they may rule in your favour and then all you have to do is concentrate on putting £3m away each year for the next 8 years.

The tougher, the better I think next season's Championship will be an even tighter affair than 2007/08.
It's going to be tough, no doubt. Personally, I thought you were a reasonable side this year from the two games I saw - although you looked toothless up front. Much the same as ourselves really when you consider a wide midfielder is our leading golascorer - Parry. We're supposedly trying to bring in 3 new alongside Fowler (he'll be on a pay as you play deal apparently). You were certainly nowhere near amongst the worst sides in our division, the three that went down were woeful at Ninian Park and fully merited their final positions. I think it'll be Blackpool, Southampton and Swansea who'll struggle next year. Think Leeds would do ok if they came up but none of the others in their play-offs. Blackpool were awful and I can't see them improving, particularly when they're supposedly getting rid of their best (only) player, Wes Hoolahan. Saints money worries will see them still struggling. Swansea's main problem this year was their awful defence which was compensated by the fact that they could score more than they conceded. They'll find scoring harder in the Championship and have just given new contracts to their defence en-block. Dennis Lawrence and Gary Monk are fantastic comedy value
RE: It may be even more interesting than you think. We've won Round 1. Don't believe for a moment it'll go to Round 2 - if it does Sam Hammam (Langston) will end up in prison as a link between him and Langston has been established (that's in the words of the Judge btw). Money laundering, fraud, embezzlement are the terms being used. He's already left the country and is living in the States and says he has no intention returning. We'll be allright, don't worry about that.
Don't even want to think about that. Cup Finals costing enough and I can't sleep already! Would be nice to go back into Europe though - even if I don't agree with it. I've travelled with City in Europe 4 times and it's fabulous.
RE: The tougher, the better Definately mate. It was tight this year with everyone capable of beating anyone - our record against the bottom 6 teams was diabolical but much better against the top 6! Look at the teams in next years Championship and there's no "bankers" there.
I'll bet a pound to .. a pinch of rocking horse **** that Barnsley are tipped for relegation.......again.
As Red Rag says We'll be amongst the favourites with the bookies to be relegated (some of our own fans will agree with it, too) and that suits me fine. It makes it so much sweeter when we prove them wrong.
JFH played 39 times (not bad for an oldie) and scored 9. Fowler played 13 and scored 6 - got injured just as he was getting some level of fitness after taking the summer off!
RE: It may be even more interesting than you think.
That's assuming Hammam would need to be present to represent Langston. And there's still the small matter of the debt being called in in eight years. And god knows what else Ridsdale has swept under the carpet. It's a house of cards if you ask me.

RE: I'll bet a pound to Probably, yes. Forgot to add Coventry in the list of the teams I think'll struggle btw. You've been in the Championship for two seasons and slowly chopped and changed players to improve the squad and I'm sure that'll continue. That's the best way forward to establish yourselves before kicking on imo - and the FA Cup run could prove to be the springboard to make further progress.
Spot on mate Some people are natural pessimists, never happy unless they're moaning. Same everywhere I'm afraid.
RE: It may be even more interesting than you think. He'll be summoned to attend apparently. The debt is manageable according to independant people I've spoken to who've been given access by the Riddler to the club accounts. There's even been talk of paying the debt off very early, so we'll wait and see. The club are in talks with several investors at the moment including groups from London, USA and they also met up with the customary Eastern European billionaire at the recent Barca/Man U game. They were flown there as guests of Man U btw, who are supposed to be tabling a £5m (rising to £10m with add-ons) for Aaron Ramsey. Christ, we'll be richer than QPR before long
