For the guys posting last night, what teams do you follow ? I follow the Cowboys, and for the first time in years we have had a decent season, but we look like blowing it as it comes to the business end of the season. We have been shocking these past three weeks and totally abysmal tonight. we need the week off but can't see us going past our first play off game :'(
49ers For Me Improving gradually after a few seasons of getting very few wins. I'd have taken five wins at the start of the season. It's something to build on for next year and maybe an outside chance of the play offs (more likely still a year too soon). Cowboys were shocking against Washington last night. VAST improvement is going to be needed in the play offs. I still don't think Pats will win the Super Bowl either.
Saints Started watching when it was first shown on Channel 4 and back then it was Redskins and Patriots. But went to a game in 2000 in New Orleans, so some sort of connection there at least rather than arbitrarily picking one. p.s. One team I really dislike are the Cowboys - probably goes back to rooting for the 'Skins. Though the Cowboys have probably been the surprise of the season, they are over reliant on the Romo-TO combination. Can't see past the Patriots for the Superbowl - they seem to just pull something else out of the locker when they are being tested, but questionable if they've yet been tested to the level they will in a winner take all game.
Cowboys Started watching NFL in Joe Montana's last season, must have only been 8 or 9 years old. My uncle was a 49ers fan so often stayed up late watching them beat The Cowboys in the playoffs (I think anyway). Became a massive fan of Smith, Aikman and Sanders. Just pains me how they get called "America's team" as I have genuinley kept track of results for the last 15 seasons or so. Patriots won't win the Superbowl, neither will the Colts. San Diego or The Cowboys for me!
Cowboys started watching NFL in its first season on Channel 4 in the early 80s, the Cowboys had the legandry Tom Landry as head coach, there werent so many franchises in those days, the NFC dominated and the AFC was just pants. the game and the coverage has changed a lot since then, the draft system means no team will dominate for long, although I think a lot depends on keeping the coaching staff together, good offensive and defensive coodinators tend to get poached to be head coaches, etc. I reckon the Patriots will win this year, but if the Cowboys can get TO and Glenn on the field and the Cowboys offensive line gives Romo enough time, I think they've a chance, the Packers being the main threat if they got Favre fully fit. Superbowls are won in the air, the running game only comes into play when the QBs arent all that, and Brady and Romo are the best there is. Dont read too much into the last few Championship games, when you've secured a first round bye and home field advantage its more about resting players than maintaining momentum into the Playoffs.
when i was a kid i used to like the dolphins with "the fridge" wonder if he is still alive the big mo fo! and who was the quaerterback - was is Joe Montana or summat?
RE: when i was a kid i used to like the dolphins with "the fridge" He was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment hall of fame by John Cena in 2006.
RE: when i was a kid i used to like the dolphins with "the fridge" William Perry - he was in the Sky studios one week last season.
RE: they must have had a big chair then. I think they must just have a special sized chair to put alongside Nick Halling - as the ex-Eagles guy they have in a lot ain't small
