Following my rant at the NHS in June for losing my notes as I waited to go down to theatre for my operation, I now have to offer some balance. The notes never turned up, so shame on Bradford Royal Infirmary for that, but I've just got home after my op and have to say I was treated really well. Five hours under general anaesthetic this morning, so still a bit groggy, but they were happy to let me come home for the weekend. That cup of tea they brought me as I came round is possibly the finest I've ever had. Just saddled with a head bandage that makes me look like the Mekon, but hey, it's two weeks of feet-up and daytime TV, so who gives a ****!!?
Ohoh - you must be a newby to daytime TV 'cos it's nothing to look forward to, that's for sure.

Correct Removal of a particularly nasty cholesteatoma, benign tumour causing all sorts of mayhem in my inner ear. Bones in there completely eroded, so I'll not get my hearing back in there, but hopefully it can't do any more damage. They can lead to facial paralysis and ultimately meningitis!! Eek! I blame Harrow Tyke - he screamed in my ear after the pens at the Millennium. All his fault, then. Quite liking this convalescing bit - sat in bed with the rugby on and t'laptop on me knee.
you can alus watch the replay of that Billy Piper thing on ITV.com best not, shunt be getting excited
