Wasn't great. Fan being punished by going down the correct avenue. He could have easily just renewed the lads kid season ticket to pass to the girl. But no he wanted the lads seat changed to the girls name and was upfront about it.
Basically a grand dad who took his grandson last season. Grandson wasn't bothered and granddaughter wanted to go. Went to renew and said he wished to change the name on the free ticket. Club were a bit ****tish telling him he had to wait until June 29 to change and it was confirmed his grandson wouldn't renew and pay 30 quid for the grand daughter or have a free ticket two seats away. So he told them to stuff it.
Not to defend the club here because they should have procedures for this but it's possible that the computer system doesn't allow a ticket to be sold to a different holder before that date. Don't understand the fee though
Ben Mansford's first job imho Make the club realise that it is a PROVIDER of a service and that people (customers) shouldn't just be thankful that they are there. #rowingera
The worrying part being that when the bloke told the club that he wouldn't be renewing his ticket now, they just shrugged their shoulders an acted as if they couldn't care less. I've seen other fans have grief in the Box Office but to be fair, everytime I go in to get a ticket they are spot on and have been accommodating in the past with moving seats etc... Think we should be looking at following Crawley's lead: http://www.crawleytownfc.com/news/article/john-steward-311150.aspx
One sided story though, I'd put money on him being a season ticket holder despite his rant in the Chronicle.
i went and got my nephew his first ticket on wed last week, guy in there with same problem, lad dosen,t want to go and another one wants to go in his place, the ticket office could not do enough for this fella, i myself changed ST,s a couple of times during the season, never had any problems with the staff in the ticket office, typical newspaper talk, you never get both sides, did they contact the ticket office for their side?
A lot on here seem to be reading between the lines and heading in a "lets have a go at the club direction" without knowing the full facts. Well lets look at another possible scenario. The lad is now 12 and is required to pay. Grandad swops ticket for girl, but takes lad instead of girl. Without the full facts, we will never know. Why some folk always take things at face value and make decisions without the full facts beats me.
Re: Ben Mansford's first job imho I think you're right John, it does sound a bit anal but there is always two sides to every story.
Re: Ben Mansford's first job imho My mate has moved to next to me and his previous seat made free (obviously) but club told another mate who wants that that the first mate has to write to the club to release it even though he moved. Just a farce sometimes
Re: Ben Mansford's first job imho backing the club on this one - the policy is straight forward - a seat held by an a Season Ticket holder can not be sold to anyone else until 29 June. Why doesn't the guy go down on the 29th June to get an ST for his grand-daughter?
