Womens football, its like Mens Hockey just not right somehow. And before you jump down my throat I ahve watched some fantastic Womens football games also Mens Hockey. But it still does not seem to sit right for me somehow.
That's funny with all the play acting and feigning injury in the game, is it really a mens game any way he he
I just clicked on the BBC home page link "England stars to miss Six Nations" and on seeing the ensuing page title "Leading England Women players to miss Six Nations" thought "You cheeky buggers" (or words to that effect). Maybe we should have a separate section on the website for women's sport to avoid any such confusion?
My sister's a quality player. She was as good as plenty of my mates, and was a better player from being kicked up and down by us when we were kids. She played against Donny Belles in the early rounds of the cup a couple of years ago, was being marked by the Italian under 21 centre half. Season after she came back from having her first kid she ended up one of the top scorers in their league. When I was younger I was visiting my mate at his uni. His inter-department football team were a couple of players short so I turned out for them and gave my sister a call (she was at the same uni). When she turned up all the opposition were pi55ing themselves. Anyway, 10 minutes in she got the ball, turned one of their centre halves and pinged it in the top corner from the edge of the area. She ended up scoring 2 in a 3-2 win, I got the other coming up from the back for a corner. They didn't think it was that funny after that.
Re: Womens football, its like Mens Hockey Womens football is highly popular and on the increase. I am involved in a local FA Chartered Club and we have a succesful girls team, and along with a few other teams in Barnsley area, compete in the Sheffield & Hallamshire League. Think you would be genuinely surprised if you attended games or were involved.
