Got to hand it to the bloke - his cover has been blown, the knives are out for him and he knows he is disliked by 99% of fans around the world yet he calmly sidesteps all of this, and blames it on someone else. He's confirmed he will still be standing tomorrow.
I agree with Gary Lineker... Boycott FIFA http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32902699 but we all know that will not happen, as the whole shebang is that rotten.
I think it's nailed on Mario - and even if not what difference would it make? The second choice will be just as bent.
It seems that a lot of nations have become more resolute in their support of Blatter since the Americans launched their imperialistic attack on FIFA.
Told ya...... TIFA is the way forward. Thereev's international football association. P.S. Any wendies are automatically barred.
According to what I'm hearing he isn't disliked by 99% of fans around the world, just the ones in Europe. The third world couldn't give a toss about his corruption as long as they get some. Perhaps they don't realise that they would get even more if their representatives weren't pocketing so much. I guess that if you are used to graft in every department of government, it just seems normal to you. I predict a rift if he wins between EUFA and FIFA, but as long as the gravy train keeps going to some extent he will run with that. He could finish up as the poor man's champion. They need to get something on him to stop him.
I did think about qualifying that statement and you are right - it's mainly UEFA, the US and Australia who don't like him.
That's where the power lies though, particularly UEFA. If, and it is a big if, the UEFA nations (and USA and AUS and all the others that would join in) decided to boycott FIFA the gravy train at FIFA would soon dry up. Another tournament hosted by UEFA inviting any country to enter could be played at the same time as FIFAs WC and the interest (fan and commercial) would undoubtedly be on UEFAs competition. I think the SAmerican nations would soon realise that too. The WC would be a minor competition.
