thanks fer that, Korks.. I used to watch Big Ben playing for Northern Spirit, down at North Sydney. I see that was in 2002 and he scored 16 in 27 matches. Conference level or old Div 4, I would say, and he was well liked by the six thousand or so. At the time I assumed that he was over here playing because he hadn't made the grade in England. I was pleased for him going back and having a good career in the lower divs. The old jounos wouldha called him a big, 'rawboned' centre forward... ( Tommy Taylor was labelled thus).

I hopes yer well, Korks and cricket is a **** game.

refreshing change not to see a money grabbing footballer who cries "its only a short career" and thinks once they hit 35 have earned the right to put their feet up for 30 years

watched your boys getting torn a new a-hole v's pakistan last week, ashes coming back next year me thinks

Enjoyable read comes across as a genuine grounded bloke unlike so many present day footballers. Also first saw him playing for Northern Spirit and later Blackpool and Hull. Always likely to score big old fashioned centre forward.
