BARNSLEY midfielder Brian Howard has indicated he would like to stay at Oakwell beyond the end of the season.

Brian's contract at Oakwell expires at the end of June 2007 although the influential midfielder is confident a new deal will be signed shortly.

Speaking this afternoon, Brian said: "The gaffer has told me his wants me to stay; the Chairman has told me he wants me to stay here and I am more than happy here. I have heard all the rumours that I will be off this month; I am not happy here and that my house is up for sale.

"My house isn't up for sale, I am quite happy here and I want to stay. We are still in the early part of the discussions but I am quite confident that things will be sorted soon".

Brian joined the Reds in the summer of 2005 and has bagged eleven goals in 62 first team games.
