Nice to see our club captain has given up on the top two and is now concentrating on pushing for the top six regardless of the fact we still have to play all our rivals. "Hopefully we will be the ones shouting from the rooftops come May when we are in the top six and looking forward to the play offs." Paolo
Not very encouraging is it to have the Captain say that?
It looks like we have a team of Tim Henmans.

It's been said before by Ritchie as well. Believe it or not I think it's a method of managing the expectations of the fans. You know, all those who are ready to throw the towel in on BFC should we not coast to automatic promotion.
I'm concerned that so many posters seem to be happy with a play off spot.
I don't understand their confidence in getting promoted via the play offs when you will have to win 3 games in what is a knock-out competition to be certain of going up. We didn't get promoted the last time we we got to the play offs and that was with a side with much more fight in them than what we have at present.
I think the difference between the 2 posters is those that expect automatic promotion and nothing less and if we don't get it - the clubs *****, the managers *****, the squads *****, Hayes is *****, Richards is *****, Heckinbottom is ***** etc And those that believe we have been performing better then most expected under Andy's leadership so far and it's actually looking like we might build something to get even more excited about in the future. I would love us to go up this season, but I don't 'expect it' automatically or via the playoffs. In my personal opinion, when you take into account the financial position of the club and the strength of the current squad, I'm not sure we'd have the resources to consolidate in the championship next season and I'm not actually confident that Ritchie would be ready for that step up and the pressure that would go with it. One more season in League 1 is what I expected and as disappointing as that might be for all fans, it may well offer a brighter long term future for BFC. To me that's more important then going up this season. Ritchie is doing a good job to have us where we are today, he's learning every day about the impact his decisions have on the players and the fans, he'll get better at it and I'm happy with what he has achieved to date.
When will they feckin learn. D1ckheads... Everytime, reid and shuker start shouting the odds the next game they completly **** it up. For gods sake shut yer feckin mouths, we don't want to hear it. we want to SEE IT!!!
You're having a laugh surely 'would love us to go up this season, but I don't 'expect it' automatically or via the playoffs. In my personal opinion, when you take into account the financial position of the club and the strength of the current squad, I'm not sure we'd have the resources to consolidate in the championship next season and I'm not actually confident that Ritchie would be ready for that step up and the pressure that would go with it' 1.Can we afford to spend another season in this sh'thole league? I believe our squad are better equipt to cope in the Championship than this division 2.Season ticket sales would definately be down on this season 3.There would not be any extra pressure on Ritchie if we went up, if anything there would be less as expectations would be lower. If Ritchie could'nt cope with promotion then he's in the wrong job mate.
Wouldn't going up via the play offs.. generate a few quid though, maybe quite a few more than automatic..
