in fairness i didn't want wilson but the lack of suitable available managers meant imo that we didn't have any better options and his appointment out of the available candidates was inevitable . but as soon as he was appointed i was fully behind him as all our managers i have never called for a manager to be sacked even iley. but as is my perogative i do voice my concerns and critisisms as much as my praises and adorations. and since danny has come in he has left me bewildered, frustrated, angry and puzzled.tbh.i think he has improved the team since he came but lost some of the gains with team selection and tactics in some games.
I think today the team and tactics used , could and SHOULD have won us the game, I know that Bolton had nothing to play for, but we were the better team for great parts of the match and it was down to the players that have been playing fantastic of late, that missed the chancesw. That is not down to bad management or Paddy not playing or being a team full of cloggers! That is just how it goes sometimes. Some of the rubbish on here is beyond stupidity ! I do not include you in these statements, but they know who they are and they revel in us losing , so they can say Wilson is crap !
i knw you are not including me and i think i know who you are aiming at and i agree withyou. i know we missed chances today and i'm not critisising players for doing so but i think we were capable of so much more today with a bolder setup
For what its worth I feel Danny is the right man to rebuild. But he will need some support, either in terms of signings, or better still in paying to reestablish the European scouting network that brought us promotion to the Prem at viurtually zero cost.
We ain't relegated yet , and Danny still our best option whichever league we are in . A lot of rebuilding needed whatever league we are in though
Bye all means voice yours criticisms against those who dare to criticize Wilson but lets look at the facts: (1) Wilson inherited a Mess we all are aware of that and if I'm being honest then it was always going to be a difficult job to avoid the drop. (2) Credit to him for ridding us of some of the dross from the previous regime, but the players recruited by Wilson have hardly been an improvement. This is the manager who brought us Brek Shea and continued to select him even after some horrendous displays. (3) Wilson's Tactics have been baffling to say the least and the same goes for his team selections. (4) Flitcroft had to go, no denying that, but last season he DID motivate the side and that work ethic mainly was the reason why we survived the drop. Wilson hasn't motivated this lot at all apart from a few fleeting glimpse ie: Yeovil, Reading away (5) By far my biggest criticism of Wilson is his ability to react to what is and has happened in various games. On many occasions he leaves it far too late before changing things and ultimately this leads to an inability to retrieve anything from games as there isn't enought time left. Even then one should learn to change things for the next game formation wise but what does he do? Carry on selecting the same inept players without giving some of the other team members a chance. Didn't want him back but hoped things would have turned out a little better. He will be in charge next season but don't expect an immediate return to the championship. It won't happen
Were Wilson to get us promoted from League 1 the first thing we should do is sack him. He's NOT a Championship manager, his time has been and gone, times moved on, his tactics and methods maybe/hopefully still count for something in L1 but simply not good enough for Championship survival or better.
Just got back from the game, Totally agree with you tactics and team selection were spot on today. We should have won that game with room to spare, cannot afford to miss penalties and chances which are easier to score than miss, like Mclaughlin did today. Only missed Reading since Danny became manager and am so frustrated that we will probably be relegated now as we should really have got out of it , we are a poor side but I have seen more than 3 sides who are worse. Dont agree with these fans who say the players dont put the effort in, our demise is solely down to our overall lack of quality.
I've wanted Danny back since Dave Bassett and i'm not changing my opinion now. I know there's still 5 games to go and it don't look good but I have complete faith in him for the future.
