i was reading in the paper today that he is at leeds crown court on charges for inciting racial hatred, i was wondering to myself how come abu hamza, omar bakri have never been done for inciting racial hatred? (dunno)
He has Hamza, 47, was arrested last year over allegations that he encouraged the murder of Jews and used racist abuse during sermons at the controversial Finsbury Park Mosque, in St Thomas's Road, Islington. He was due to be tried at the Old Bailey this month on nine charges of soliciting murder, four counts stirring up racial hatred and one charge of possession of a document useful for terrorism.
RE: now now surely this omar bakri can be arrested, or are the police and government scared of doing that??
i would assume lack of evidence. None of us know that the powers that be may be building a case as we speak. I would imagine they are, but it needs to be watertight.
Personally, I think the bloke is a complete lovely person and his views are pretty disgusting. But, if he hasn't broken the law, and from what I've heard and read he hasn't (although I admittedly know very little about him), then how can we arrest him? Obviously some of the stuff he says is pretty tasteless and as far from many of our beliefs as it's possible to get, but this freedom of speach malarky works for us all.
