RE: So People Who........ yep, but she had it stitched up years ago, like one of those ethnic women, that you cant mention cos its racialist
Depends what you want....
Embankment station is decent place to start, some river pubs down there. Not a great deal else. So...
Shift to somewhere more central. Soho is a laugh if you pick right places.Dean St, Wardour St, all good for bars and you get that London feel, some places quite poncey but plenty of nice places. Good for eating too. Eating is cheating mind you!
Clerkenwell is good for later. As is Hoxton. Bars and nightclubs etc. Farringdon and Old St stations respectively. Clerkenwell good for dancy places. Hoxton more Indie. If you wanna pick one area and stay there Camden is highly recommended.
If you say what you're after I'll come up with some ideas

RE: Depends what you want.... Got to agree with Harrow Tyke, there's so many places to have a drink around these parts. Do you like the rowdy/extra lively sort of pub? or the more reserved laid back sort of arena? Or just simply the middle-of-the-road?
Back to the original question "Night out in London - where do I start?" Start: Ye Olde Axe Finish: Ye Olde Axe, shitfaced and £300 lighter but in contention for the award of Britain's happiest man.
RE: Back to the original question With that in mind..... do what you want! It's as easy as that (wicked)
Is this the Axe with.. ...dancing ladies ?
Or is that in Shoreditch* ?
*Note my geography of London is *****
