Having a night out round tarn on saturday for first time in a couple of years.
Anywhere to avoid?
Anywhere serve real ale?

Gatehouse (old Devonshire, near train station) Court House (bottom of Regent St) Joseph Brammah (Market Hill next to Lloyds Bank) All do real ale although I havent been in the Court House since the refurb. Where to avoid depends on what you want to avoid.
Courthouse since the refurbishment I've been in & they still serve real ale. More often than not it's just the Theakstons range but I was in last Saturday & they had Caledonian 80/- on too. Generally it's brighter & cleaner than it was before but the beer's more expensive.
RE: Courthouse since the refurbishment
In fairness it would have been a struggle to get it any dirtier or duller! It was a right shithole. If the increase in beer price reflects the amount of money that place needed spending on it, it'll be more expensive than Blah Bar!

Nowhere is more expensive Than Blah Bar! I went there on a leaving do from work recently. Having gone there from the Bramah, I almost cried when asked to part with £3 for a pint of John Smith's Smooth. A vastly inferior product at almost twice the price I'd been paying earlier!
