No chance. Good enough for a La Liga team to build their side around. Will go to a middling Premiership team if he comes to England. He isn't good enough for a top side - he rarely played at Valencia (I think he's back at Racing on loan) - but it would be impossible for us to sign him.
At 28 years old suggests he's not out on loan for experience and therefore not in Valencia's plans, maybe they would accept a bid for him
Jesus H Christ get real. He cost valencia a fortune. Do you really think we can go from signing someone who scored scores in Peru to someone who bangs them regularly in the 2nd best division on the globe and constantly linked with multi million pounds moves to the Prem. Needless to say I think you need to lower your expectations or you will be sorely dissapointed.
I have to laugh when I read threads like this. We won't be signing Nikola Zigic. It's pure fantasy. Why would a man who is first-choice for a decent international side ply his trade in the English second division? I heard we're signing Alexandre Pato too. For £1.76.
Ok lets set our sights signing average league 1 and 2 players and don't complain when we are still fighting relegation battles
The hang up here seems to be that Valencia paid £20m for him so he must be worth it, has anybody thought that they have made a mistake and overpaid for this guy. If he was really worth that would he not be playing for Valencia rather than being bombed out on loan. The premeier league has a history of players were big fees have been paid and the player has struggled to make an impact at that level. John Macken £5m to Man City in his prime never pulled trees up in the premeir league so would you say they overpaid for him.
Might not be worth £20m but still worth £5m - £10m of anybodies money.. Way out of our league... Even if we managed to get an offer accepted, he signed for £20m... That must mean his wages of at least £50,000 per week. Yes we should be setting our sights higher that looking at League 1 players but we still have to be realistic....
