    Because the likes of Phil Brown and other managers are so arrogant they believe they are the chosen one who can reform wasters like Ranger and are quite happy gambling with other people's money.

    Second / third / fourth chances aside plus his off-field lifestyle he's just not that good. Bad case of the name is bigger than the talent.
